Issue with Application Technology Platform Model view

I have a question about the Application Technology Platform Model view. When you publish the meta model to the viewer it creates nice PNG files of the Technology Component Architectures you have defined, but when you run the Application Technology Platform Model view it creates a rather ugly UML based diagram which is what it displays instead of the pre-generated PNG. Can this be changed? Where does the pre-generated PNG get used in a view?

Thanks in advance for any assistance regarding this issue.

Hi,

We opted to use the UML style views to allow users to focus on creating the relationships rather than need to create diagrams. The UML view does auto-layout on the content and means the modeller can put together the relationships very quickly with out concerning themselves with what this looks like in Protege. This is especially true when creating content using the Essential Import Utility and also for very large models. Most of our clients have favoured the UML style and convenience over the standard Protege widget.

It is possible to create a view which used the Protege .png files and EAS can provide professional services to deliver this.

I'm sorry you don't like the look of the model. We're always working to improve the look and feel of the Viewer and do welcome your input.

Thanks

Neil
