The Essential Project Team are pleased to announce the release of a sample repository to provide new users with a worked example of how to apply the Essential Meta-Model.

In this initial release, the repository captures a thin slice through the enterprise architecture of a fictional investment management company (ACME Investment Management); more specifically, it describes business, application, information and technology infrastructure elements that are involved in the delivery of the Fee Billing business capability.

Based on feedback from The Essential Project Community, the sample repository will be extended incrementally to cover further aspects of the enterprise to be modelled and provide examples for areas that have not been covered in this initial version.

Get the Sample Project

To view the sample project in Protege, do the following:

• Download the zip file containing the sample repository from the Share area of the Essential Project site.
• Unpack the downloaded zip file to a convenient location on a local drive.
  
• Start the Protege client and click the Open Other... button on the "Welcome to Protege" dialog (alternatively, if the Protege client is already started, click the File | Open.. menu item).
• Browse to the location of the unpacked files, select the essential_sample_repository_v1.0.pprj file and click "OK".
